So my friends and I are doing an SMP on a private server that has multiple worlds on it. We are doing the SMP on a world called "SurvivalSeries". I wanted to make a nether portal so I gathered the resources and made one, but it would not work. So I downloaded Multiverse-NetherPortals and did the following command:
The problem is as follows: Placed portal around -360 -430 (omitting Y) so that would get me around -45 -53. I went through the portal and spawned in the nether in -360 -430 with no portal around, but then I walked up to -45 -53 (where I was supposed to spawn) and the portal was there.
Nether Portal not taking me to the Nether? I'm playing on a server with my friend and we tried going in the nether but we just sit there. The nether portal ignites but it doesn't take us anywhere it just does the animation thing and doesn't do anything after that. There are no mods or plugins. For some reason, /tps doesn't exist for me.
Behavior after MV on the same server. When stepping into portal A, it sends you to portal B (a portal generated in the nether from portal C). When stepping into portal B, it teleports to portal C. This issue is preventing multiple nether portals to be linked correctly. Steps to reproduce. Create a portal in the Overworld (Portal C)
So, I made a portal in a village then later decided to move base to a cave nearby ~100 blocks away, so I destroyed the portal in the village and created a new one in the cave. This new one took me to the exact same place in the nether and when I re-entered the portal it took me back to the village but not exactly in the same position as the
Nether portals are used to remove a mob from the mob cap as fast as possible to allow for new spawns. When an entity passes through a nether portal, it will temporarily load the surrounding chunks in the other dimension. This is the basic premise of how a remote chunk loader works. Even mobs that go through a nether portal are chunk loading the
Nether portals work fine, but you need to understand how they work: - each block you walk in the nether = 8 in the overworld. - if you create a portal in the overworld, it has to be the single portal in a 1024 block radius for it to create a new portal in the nether. If two portals are closer to eachother than 1024 blocks (x-z) they will link
3. From the wiki, the only ways to deactivate a nether portal are explosions or pouring a water bucket directly into the portal. If you don't want to have anything explode, it looks like you will not be able to deactivate it with redstone. One option, if you want to try using TNT without destroying anything nearby, you can use obsidian to
